The simple answer to the question “what can Fusion do?” is this: it can make images look better. It allows you to play with the sharpness, contrast, exposure, color saturation, color temperature, and other details that influence the way an image looks. Speaking of which, it must be mentioned that Fusion can process single images (RAW, TIFF, JPEG) or multiple images of the same scene (HDR). It must also be mentioned that Fusion supports the align images, summation operator, and tone mapping operator functions.

Fusion is available as a paid and as a free version. The paid version is available as an installer for Microsoft’s Windows operating system. The free version is available as a portable package, also for Microsoft’s Windows operating system. Please note that Fusion Free comes with several limitations or restrictions: only one processing mode in summation operator; only one tone mapping mode in HDR operator; no post processing tools; no batch processing operator; only JPEG for the output format; no 64-bit version, only 32-bit.

Fusion’s interface is divided into two panels: load some images into the application and they will be presented on the left hand side; select an image and a preview will be presented on the right hand side. Above these two panels there’s a File Menu and a toolbar with buttons for several functions: load images, remove images, align images, Summator, HDR Operator, save images, start with a new fusion.

Using Fusion isn't a very complicated matter: load one or multiple images into the application; use the align function to, well, align them; use the Summator or the HDR Operator to play with how the image looks; process and save the image when you’re done. If you have any problems figuring out Fusion’s interface and how to use the interface to access the functionality Fusion has to offer, then you should check out the Brief Instruction page on Fusion’s official webpage. While you’re there, you might as well check out the Photos section too. It presents some images that were enhanced with Fusion.

Process single or multiple images and enhance the way they look. This sort of very useful functionality is offered by Fusion.

Little time and effort will go into getting Fusion up and running on your Windows PC. Little time and effort will go into figuring out the interface. Fusion can process single images (RAW, TIFF, JPEG) or multiple images of the same scene (HDR). Useful features: Align images, Summator, HDR Operator. Fusion is available as a paid and as a free version.
